&lt;p&gt;Typesafe raised $14 million from Shasta Ventures, Greylock Partners, and Juniper Networks in August 2012 to build a commercial business around Scala and the Reactive programming stack. Typesafe was founded by Martin Odersky (creator of Scala) and Jonas Bonér (creator of Akka), combining the language with the two major frameworks that had grown up around it: Akka for concurrent/distributed systems and the Play Framework for web applications.&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
