Algernon's Law — Drug Heuristics

Gwern's formalization of Algernon's Law — the principle that if a cognitive-enhancing drug worked well and was safe, evolution would have selected for the underlying biology already. A useful prior against most nootropic claims, derived from first principles rather than empirical dismissal.
